EncryptaKey at its foundation was designed to provide a platform for secure information exchange over networks and the internet. This is achieved through a variety of means; the foremost of which is the use of a secure, read only operating system. In addition to the this operating system ultra strong, five factor user authentication is used along with scaleable encrypted AES VPN tunnels and data lose prevention techniques. EncryptaKey also employees a host of applications to bring information to the users finger tips and to help them compute mobility without sacrificing security.
EncryptaKey removes the host computer's operating system and its hard drive from the security equation, thus removing the largest and hardest to treat security vulnerability. This is done by the loading of the EncryptaKey's secure RAM-based operating system: an operating system that runs solely in the host computer's RAM and is secured against malware threats from preexisting infections of the host computer's hard drive, or new occurrences that can be gathered as a result of online activity. Upon successful authentication the USB device unloads the host computers native operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) and loads the secure EK operating system from the USB devices independent, read only-protected memory module, which is both encrypted and actively policed by the Key's onboard micro processor, this prevents malware threats from ever getting a foothold in the operating system. In addition, because it runs solely in the Host computer's RAM, without an active hard drive, it provides a footprint-less and trackless operating environment. At the end of a user's session, when the computer is turned off or restarted, any information in the volatile memory (RAM) is lost, thus leaving nothing behind to be gathered via investigation or computer forensics.
Once the user is safely within the secure environment provided by the EK operating system they can then connect securely to any connection they have rights to access, whether this is a portal service, a connection to an Enterprise Network or any other remote network connection. All communication to the user's end point connection is conducted through scalable AES VPN tunnels, with encryption rates ranging from 128 to 512, depending on connection speed and user/network preference.
EncryptaKey's five factor authentication allows a user to identify themselves to systems and services they have access to. By combining Username, Strong password, unique device ID, image selection and Biometrics, the level of surety that a user is who they say they are is confirmed without a doubt.
With the use of EncryptaKey's Registration and Rebuild services, should a user ever lose their USB device, whether it is lost, stolen or damaged. All the user has to do is get a new device and reboot into the secure EK operating system, once there they go through a simple authentication processes that verifies their identity and retrieves their device information. This information is then used to rebuild the device, replacing all of the user's files and settings as if they had never lost their old device. Once the rebuild in complete, their old device (using the unique device ID) is then banned from the EK service (or enterprise service) Preventing it from accessing the service ever again. In addition, a command is sent to the old device initiating the onboard 'scorched earth protocol' which will begin an eraser of all the information upon the drive, followed by the disabling of the key code components, rendering the device inoperable. All of this combined serves to not only protect the user's data but also to keep it out of the hands of those who should not have it.
All this allows for network administrator and users to guarantee the security of their data exchange, knowing that not only are their communication connections secure and encrypted, but that their operating platform is free from any malicious application that could put their information at risk. Whether they are accessing corporate file servers, email, performing a credit card transaction or any other online activity they do it with the safety and security of EncryptaKey.
The EncryptaKey Modular Portal packages allows for Enterprise Networks, Portal Services and connection hosts to provide a variety of tools to their EK users. Whether in a stand alone portal, add-ons to existing portal services or additions into Enterprise networks, the modular portal packages expand the user's tools and resources in online activity and mobile computing.
With the EK File aggregation module, users can bring all of their files together in one place, without having to move them. This tool allows the user to set up secure VPN connection to computers they have access to and set permissions that allows them to share their files across the internet and to the EK device/portal. From there they can view and edit them normally. In addition, network administrators can use this tool to share collaborative files from enterprise file servers to their EK users, by simply setting permissions (or tying into an existing user database, like Active directory or LDAP) and bring the users files and application they have permission to access to them.
The EK Remote Desktop modules allows users to connect remotely and securely through EK scalable AES VPN tunnels to their personal computers and remotely control the computer as if they where physically in front it, using remote desktop protocols similar to Goto my PC™and PC anywhere™. All within the security of the EK operating system, the safety of AES VPN tunnels and with the secure five factor authentication of EncryptaKey.
With the EK Communication Aggregator Module users can bring all of their email accounts to one place, allowing the user to read and send email from any of their accounts with ease. In addition, the module also brings all of the major Instant messaging services to them in a single easy to use application.
Unlike most of the other security solutions available today, that attempt to obfuscate the true problem by distracting customers and users from the true security vulnerabilities, instead attempting to provide a false sense of security by touting the power of encryption, the security of connection tunnels and the safety offered by zero footprint technologies. While these all do provide a level of security that is far beyond a system running without said protections, most security companies address issues and breach venues not often used by the developers of malicious programs to capture sensitive data. Encryption might protect a hard drive's content from someone attempting to access the files without permission, but it does nothing to prevent the capture of those same files when "protected" data is accessed and decrypted for use by the user. Secure communication tunnels may protect the transmission of data from end point to end point, making it just short of impossible to intercept the communication as it traverses the internet, but it appears that most security companies do nothing to prevent the very same communication from being caught by a logging application as it is sent or received. Zero footprint applications work well to prevent information from being gathered with the use of computer forensics techniques and tools, but do nothing to stop live active monitoring programs from capturing the information as it happens. Simply put, there are easier ways to capture information and the solutions in the marketplace today attempt to hide that fact by promoting security services and systems that address issues that are important, but not the most common point of data loss. These systems do nothing to protect the simplest, easiest-to-exploit security hole, the user's computer.
EncryptaKey provides a solution for this security void, as well as addresses all of the same issues that others in the marketplace have attempted to address. It is only with the complete utilization of encryption, communication tunneling, zero footprint technologies and a secure, protected operating system that bypasses the innate weakness in a host computer's system that the problem can be truly solved. It is EncryptaKey that provides this total and complete solution.
